Here are 5 reasons that I hate TBS covering playoff baseball:
- There’s only ONE OCTOBER. Thanks for telling me, I forgot how many times October occurred in a year. On the plus side Dane Cook hasn’t told me yet, so there’s an improvement.
- Scooter the Baseball. I wonder what a fastball is Scooter. Can you explain to me what this slider pitch is. If Tim Wakefield gets into a game, I bet we’re going to find out what a knuckleball does.
- The obvious facts about players I already know. By now everyone knows that Jon Lester the Molester had cancer. We know that CC Sabathia got traded and pitched great in the regular season. We know the Mets collapsed again. Stop telling me dumb stuff that I already know.
- The announcers total lack of knowledge of my team. NESN does a great job of getting me what I want to know and they know the players. The announcers on TBS were absolutely terrible after Game One of the Sox-Angels. I’m a huge J.D. Drew fan but its unrealistic to compare the man that is always hurt to Mickey Mantle especially when its Drew’s second atbat since August. Is it foreshadowing something bad when they say expect to see something huge from Drew in this atbat?
